A $2000 cash prize, courtesy of MDC Music in Toronto, will be awarded to the IPMA “New Talent” winner. “MDC Music is a place where young creative minds come together to collaboratively produce music and art,” explains Manuel DaCosta, President of MDC Music. “In partnership with IPMA, we are thrilled to give a platform to new Luso artists”. The new talent finalists will sing live at the show with the panel of judges secretly scattered in the audience to rate the performances and select a winner to be announced later in the night.

The People’s Choice Award, presented by LiUNA-OPDC, is the only category voted on by the public through the IPMA website. Voting is expected to begin next week. The four artists that receive the most votes become the official nominees, and the one with the highest number of votes will be announced as the winner.

IPMA’s global reach continues to expand thanks to a new partnership with Portugal's national carrier, TAP Air Portugal. “TAP Air Portugal is proud to be the title sponsor for the 2023 International Portuguese Music Awards,” said Brannon Winn, Vice President for North America and Central America at TAP. “This partnership is a natural fit as this event promotes Portuguese music and culture on a global stage, just as TAP does by flying Portugal to the world and the world to Portugal”.

The show will broadcast on The Portuguese Channel, Camões TV, Xfinity On Demand, and worldwide via RTP International on a later date/time to be announced.

Live updates during the awards show will be posted on IPMA’s Facebook and Instagram (@ipma_awards) pages.
