International Portuguese Music Awards Announce 2024 Nominees

 
 

The red carpet is coming back to Rhode Island. The International Portuguese Music Awards, presented by Bally’s Rhode Island, revealed the nominees for the twelfth annual awards show honoring artists of Portuguese descent from around the globe.

 

NCIS Los Angeles lead actress Daniela Ruah and RTP talk show host Ricardo Farias will co-host the event slated for Saturday, May 4, 2024 at the Providence Performing Arts Center.

 

This year’s nominees hail from five different countries.

New Talent

The new talent finalists will sing live at the show with the secret panel of judges scattered in the audience. The judges will rate the performances and select a winner to be announced later in the event. A $2000 prize, courtesy of MDC Music in Toronto, will be awarded to the IPMA “New Talent” winner.

 

The People’s Choice Award, presented by LiUNA-OPDC, is the only category voted on by the public through the IPMA website. Voting will open soon. The four artists/bands that receive the most votes become the official nominees, and the one with the highest number of votes will be announced as the winner.

 

The 2024 International Portuguese Music Awards, presented by Bally’s Rhode Island, has a star-studded lineup of appearances and performances including fado singer Sara Correia, Joey Medeiros, Nuno Ribeiro, Anjos, Bárbara Bandeira, and GNR. The IPMA after party, presented by Spain Restaurant, will take place in the grand lobby of the PPAC after the show. Tickets must be purchased online via IPMAawards.com.

 

The show will also be broadcasted on The Portuguese Channel, Camões TV, Xfinity On Demand, and worldwide via RTP International and RTP 1 on a later date/time to be announced.
