INTERNATIONAL PORTUGUESE MUSIC AWARDS 2023 WINNERS: THE COMPLETE LIST

 
 

Last night's International Portuguese Music Awards, presented by TAP Air Portugal, were a lively affair with the red carpet in full swing. The event showcased performances by a renowned lineup including José Cid, Pedro Abrunhosa, Plutonio, Toy, Ruby Anderson, Eratoxica, and coaches from The Voice Portugal, Marisa Liz and Diogo Piçarra.


NCIS Los Angeles star Daniela Ruah and RTP’s Ricardo Farias hosted the eleventh annual celebration honoring musicians of Portuguese descent from around the globe at the iconic Providence Performing Arts Center in Rhode Island, which is the state with the highest percentage of Portuguese population in the United States. 


Up-and-coming comedian Hugo Brito had the audience roaring with laughter during his comedy pre-show act where he performed as character "Vavo Brito".

IPMA Lifetime Achievement Award

José Cid


José Cid is known for his unique blend of rock, pop, and progressive music. With a career spanning more than 60 years, he has released over 30 albums and has been awarded 25 Silver, 8 Gold and 3 Platinum records in Portugal. José represented Portugal at Eurovision twice and in 2019 received a Latin Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.

New Talent

Rafaėlla

The new talent winner was awarded a $2000 cash prize courtesy of MDC Music in Toronto. 


Several familiar faces joined the stage of the prestigious event including Providence’s favorite food blogger Laura Afonso of Buns and Bites, Tiny Tavares from the Tavares Brothers Band, and Michelle Pais, star of the hit TV show 24 Hour Flip.  


Towards the end of this summer, IPMA will start accepting submissions for next year's award ceremony.
